The tenor Ben Bliss is one of the most promising talents in his fach, who is much sought after for Mozart roles. This American artist is appearing in Germany for the first time singing Ferrando (role debut) in Così fan tutte, a role then sings at Seattle Opera and back at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, who awarded him the Martin E. Segal Award in 2016. Roles at the Met, where he was a member of their Lindemann Young Artist's Program, have included Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and the Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer). Other engagements have included Tamino at Opera Philadelphia and Los Angeles Opera, Tom Rakewell (The Rake’s Process) at Boston Lyric Opera, Camille de Rosillon (Die lustige Witwe/The Merry Widow) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Belmonte at Atlanta Opera and with Glyndebourne on Tour, and Flamand (Capriccio) at Santa Fe Opera. This prize winning singer returns to Santa Fe in 2018 for Robert Wilson in Dr. Atomic. Concert and Lieder work has included appearances at Carnegie Hall, with the New York Philharmonic and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
