The American tenor Lawrence Brownlee – voted »Best Male Singer« at the 2017 International Opera Awards – is one of the leading bel canto tenors of his generation.  He has thrilled audiences at leading international opera houses, includings those in Santa Fe, Seattle, Los Angeles and New York, the Munich and Vienna state operas, and festivals and appeared with many of the world's finest orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Recent engagements have included Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at Houston Grand Opera, Rossini's Le Comte Ory at the Klangvokal Musikfestival in Dortmund, Schnyder's Charlie Parker, he also sang it at the world premiere in Philadelphia, at English National Opera in London and Idreno (Semiramide) at the Munich Opera Festival. Future engagements include appearances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Zurich Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Opéra National in Paris. This passionate Lieder and Gospel singer is appearing in Frankfurt for the first time. His extensive discography includes an album of Rossini arias, which was nominated for a Grammy.
