The tenor Luc Robert, who comes from Québec, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. He recently sang Don José at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn, where he has sung Rodolfo (La Bohème), Cavaradossi (Tosca) and Berlioz’ Faust. Luc Robert made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2015, singing the title role in Verdi's Ernani. He began his career at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and recent engagements have included Rodolfo (La Bohème and Luisa Miller) at Malmö Opera, Verdi's Don Carlo at Theater Dortmund, Nicias (Thaïs) at the Theatro Municipal in São Paolo, Finnish National Opera in Helsinki and the Pacific Opera in Victoria, the Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer/The Flying Dutchman) at Opéra Lyon and Macduff (Macbeth) in Quebec and Ottawa.
