Sabine Hogrefe is back in Frankfurt, where she appeared for the first time in 2014 as the Dyer's Wife in Die Frau ohne Schatten (available on CD – OehmsClassics), to sing Ortrud (role debut) in this revival of Lohengrin. She will sing the role again in 2018, at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. She has sung Brünnhilde in Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival under Christian Thielemann, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatsoper in Hannover, Oper Leipzig and in Detmold, Freiburg and Dijon. Other engagements in recent seasons have included Gertrud (the mother) in Hänsel und Gretel at the Bayerischen Staatsoper in Munich and Isolde in Tristan und Isolde at places including the Hamburg State Opera, Nantes Opera and Oper Bonn. Other important roles at many other theatres have included Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Irene (Rienzi), Elektra, Leonore (Fidelio), Lady Macbeth, Turandot and Madame Lidoine (Dialogue of the Carmélites). Sabine Hogrefe began her career under contract to the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, Theater Freiburg and Theater Bremen.
